Winchester Food Partnership

The Winchester Food Partnership (WFP) was formed in 2017 when a range of stakeholders interested in the development of sustainable food practices across the Winchester District, were brought together.  Relatively new, we became a member of the Sustainable Food Places in Feb 2019.

Our Steering Group meets bi-monthly and we have 5 main themes: Good Food for All, Strengthen the Local Economy, Environmental Sustainability, Strong and Resilient Communities and Fairness in the Food Chain.  The WFP is organisational facing, hosted by Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC), and our public facing projects are undertaken by a lead partner who is already working within the community.

Our cross-sector steering group includes; Winchester City Council, Winchester Action on Climate Change, University of Winchester, Incredible Edible Winchester, Winchester Fairtrade, Community First, Winchester Sustainable Businesses, FirstBite and OOOOBY Hampshire.

What we do

 Veg Cities

WFP has signed up to the Veg Cities campaign - sign up here to join the local campaign and promote your projects.

Good to Grow Network

A main theme of our Veg Cities campaign is encouraging community growing spaces; as a social and healthy activity, reducing food waste and improving the knowledge around seasonal food. Sign up your community growing space via https://www.goodtogrowuk.org/map/winchester/ and lets get growing.

Access to Good Food Network

Our AtGF network is currently made up of representatives from local charities, housing associations, academics and the Winchester City Council looking at ways to ensure everyone has access to good food, especially the more vulnerable members of our communities.
